Quests
Playtime from a 42h first playthrough (no co-op, excessive side tracking). Spoiler-light: summaries only, no cutscene details.
- 1
The Beached Ship Lampfall Harbor
Lv.1–5 ~3h
You wash ashore, meet Mirelle, and get dragged into harbor politics. Onette joins at the end of the chapter — she is free and meta, so just breathe easy.
💡 Do NOT sell the water-logged charm from the ship. It becomes the waterbreathing charm upgrade material in Chapter 5. The game never warns you. - 2
Lamps in the Fog Lampfall → Greenreach
Lv.5–12 ~4h
Lantern routes, the wind temple, and the first real difficulty check (the fog stalker mini-boss). Linnea joins here and quietly becomes your Tide battery.
💡 The fog stalker is weak to Dawn. If you are stuck, kite it toward the lantern posts — they pulse Dawn damage. - 3
Roots of the Hollow The Hollow Marsh
Lv.12–20 ~5h
The church of Dawn, the marsh corruption, and the hooded stranger (Nyx recruitment — see the Secrets page, it is genuinely missable).
💡 Nyx's quest flag: talk to the hooded NPC THREE separate times across the chapter. One chat is not enough. Multiple people (me) missed her on the first run. - 4
Ashes, Then Questions Cinderpeak
Lv.20–28 ~6h
Volcano politics and the Ashen Colossus gate fight. Aldric joins. This is where the game stops babysitting you with i-frames.
💡 Buy the heat-resist soup in camp. Cheaper than the deaths. Trust the save file that knows. - 5
The Sunken Vault The Sunken Shelf
Lv.28–35 ~6h
The waterbreathing charm unlocks the whole shelf. Underwater combat is floaty and divisive — half the community calls it the best part of the game, the other half calls it "swimming homework".
💡 Dodge DOWNSWIMS toward attack tells; up-dodges eat hits constantly. Muscle memory from land combat will betray you for two hours. - 6
Stairways to Nowhere Skyway Ruins
Lv.35–42 ~5h
Floating ruins, astronomy puzzles, and Vespera. The plot finally explains the title. Sort of. There is a dragon involved. That is all you get without spoilers.
💡 The constellation puzzle answer changes per playthrough. Align the brightest star with the broken arch — the game checks position, not the pretty picture. - 7
The Dragon's Wake Dragonwake Wastes
Lv.42–48 ~7h
The difficulty wall. THE wall. Chapter 7 is where under-leveled gear goes to die, and where half the playerbase re-added Mirelle to the party out of desperation.
💡 If you hit the wall: stop pushing, go do 10 commissions, +9 your gear, come back. The chapter does not scale down. It will not apologize. - 8
Sword of Dawn Orbis — all regions
Lv.48–50 ~6h
The finale tour across every region, three-phase last boss, and the title drop. Bring your best-geared team and tissues. Post-credits unlocks the true endgame farm loop.
💡 Phase 2 hates melee. Keep a bow or catalyst character in the back pocket for the pivot window.
Region Commissions (repeatable)

⚔️ Hunt
Kill a specific elite. Best merits/hour once you know spawn routes. Cinderpeak hunts pay best but hurt most.
🛡️ Escort
Walk an NPC somewhere. Slow, boring, extremely good merits. Everyone does them while listening to podcasts.
🌿 Gather
Grab N materials. Pairs perfectly with Sylse taxi build. Boring on purpose.
📜 Rumor Board
Random rotating bounty. Sometimes hides map clues for buried chests (see Secrets). Read the flavor text!
“"Main story: 6/8 chapters bangers. Chapter 6 puzzle pacing drags, Chapter 7 demands gear you do not have yet. Overall: worth it."”
